Inaugural IWLN Rafting Trip

Over Labor Day Weekend (August 31 - September 3), IWLN launched our inaugural three-day rafting trip in Utah! The group put-in at Sand Island and rafted 27 river miles down to Mexican Hat.

Rafting participants included 11 current and emerging Indigenous leaders, two individuals representing IWLN sponsors (Planet Women, American Rivers) and the five female guides from our rafting outfitter. Our attendees spanned four generations and represented eight different tribes in the Colorado River Basin.

We are incredibly honored to have had this opportunity and to share it with such wonderful humans. Thank you to each and every individual who attended - it was such a unique environment due to the intentionality and authenticity of each attendee. Our group was able to lend time and space for deep conversations, connections and an overall appreciation of these ancestral lands.

Special shout-out to our five female guides from Fort Lewis on the Water (see last picture)! Thank you for taking care of us.
